Launching the Veytra AI Dashcam: DMS, ADAS, and live streaming that never leaves India

Our AI dashcam is live — driver monitoring, collision alerts, and full-resolution live streaming, built on a video pipeline we wrote ourselves. No Chinese OEM cloud in the path, from the device to your dashboard.

Today we're launching the Veytra AI Dashcam — driver monitoring, collision alerts, and live video streaming for Indian fleets, schools, and transport operators. It's built on a video pipeline we wrote ourselves, which means it does something most dashcam products sold in India cannot: keep every frame of footage on infrastructure you control, end to end.

What's shipping

  • ▸Driver Monitoring System (DMS) — drowsiness, phone use, smoking, and seatbelt detection, with alerts in-cab and on the fleet dashboard simultaneously
  • ▸Advanced Driver Assistance (ADAS) — forward collision warning, lane departure, and pedestrian alerts, processed on-device with no cloud round-trip
  • ▸Live JT/T 1078 video streaming — sub-2-second latency from any vehicle, any time
  • ▸Event-based clip storage — G-sensor triggers, DMS events, and manual captures stored on your own servers
  • ▸Driver scorecards — behaviour scores built from DMS events, harsh braking, over-speeding, and idle time

Why the pipeline is the actual product

Most AI dashcams sold in India are a local dashboard bolted onto a Chinese OEM's cloud SDK. The device streams video over the JT/T 1078 protocol, and the OEM's own servers — typically in Shenzhen, Singapore, or Hong Kong — decode it before it reaches the vendor's app. That round trip adds 6 to 15 seconds of latency, and it means your fleet's video briefly lives on a server neither you nor your vendor controls.

We implemented the JT/T 1078 parser ourselves. The video path is dashcam device → Veytra video parser → Veytra media server → WebRTC → your browser, with no foreign hop in between. Latency drops to under 2 seconds, and — just as importantly — you get to choose where that server actually runs: Veytra's managed Indian infrastructure, your own AWS or Azure region, or fully on-premise.

This isn't a policy statement. It's the architecture. There's no OEM endpoint to route your footage through, because we own every hop ourselves.

Who it's for

School buses, where footage of minors is a DPDP Act liability if it touches a foreign server. Corporate fleets that need route and driver data to stay under their own control. Logistics operators who need an unbroken chain of custody for insurance claims. And white-label resellers who want a dashcam product that's genuinely their own, not an OEM reskin.
